SCUBA RANGERS:

If your children have shown an interest in water sports in the past, why not introduce them to the most action-packed and fun course they will ever do? Let them become SSI Scuba Rangers! Children undertaking this course will learn valuable life tools, self-confidence, and increased self-esteem whilst having the time of their lives. This course is open to children between the ages of 8-12 years old.

DEMO RANGER LEVEL:

Under the direct supervision of one of our pros, SSI Instructors children will be taken into the swimming pool to take their first underwater breaths. Here we go through a range of skills such as how to clear their masks and use their equipment correctly. Safety is paramount to us at Dive in Phuket and we only use specially trained SSI instructors, the training takes place in our swimming pool to start with. Then if the children are comfortable we can then take them out to the ocean in ‘confined water’ conditions with a maximum depth of 5 meters. The SSI Scuba Rangers Program teaches children the skills and the knowledge required to be a safe diver while of course having the time of their lives.

Its the perfect present for any child. At Dive In Phuket, we can also cater for children’s birthday parties.

Once a child reaches the age of 10 they can then start the SSI Junior Open Water Diver Course.

SSI SCUBA RANGERS CLUB:

This unique adventure club is the foundation upon which the Scuba Rangers Program has been created. Having children participate in this club offers them learning about the world around them, meeting new friends, being active in the community, and learning more dive skills.

As part of the Scuba Rangers Club, this group of children will have endless fun and opportunities. The underwater world is a very special place indeed. Children are our future and if we are to protect the marine environment for future generations, then what better way to get our future environmentalists, dive instructors and marine biologists started at a young age.

There are various recognition levels the Scuba Rangers can attain by participating in Scuba Rangers Specialty Courses and club events. The 3 levels of Scuba Rangers are Intermediate Ranger, Advanced Ranger and Master Ranger. These recognition levels are great ways to keep the kids involved in the club and make it a huge success.

SCUBA RANGERS RECOGNITION LEVELS:

• Intermediate Ranger: Children must complete 5 Scuba Rangers Specialties and attend 1 Scuba Rangers Club Event.
• Advanced Ranger: To earn the Advanced Ranger Specialty, Rangers must complete 10 total Scuba Rangers Specialties and attend at least 3 Scuba Rangers Club Events.
• Master Ranger: To reach the final and most sought-after Scuba Rangers Recognition Level, Master Ranger, Scuba Rangers must complete at least 15 Scuba Rangers Specialties, including Civics Ranger and Buddy Ranger, and attend at least 5 Scuba Rangers Club Events.

Dive In Phuket scuba diving training center Located at Chalong is the perfect facility for teaching young children to scuba dive. Parents can also join in the pool sessions or relax and watch. Your child will learn to the skills dive, taking pictures underwater, and also participating in underwater games.

There are also specialty Aqua-adventure such as wreck diving, navigation, marine life, sunset diving, environmental awareness and more. Kids will meet new and interesting friends and sharing the passion for diving.

SCUBA RANGER: WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

Children should be 8 years or older. No prior diving experience is necessary, but your child should have a basic level of comfort in the water. Signed parental approval is also a requirement.

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN?

The Scuba Divers Team Program teaches children responsibility, respect, self-confidence, and awareness of the underwater environment. The actual skills children learn are breathing underwater with a regulator, clearing their masks of water, recovering and clearing a regulator, and underwater swimming. Each session is around 60-90 minutes and we can arrange multiple sessions as a package.

Children who complete the Scuba Rangers Program have their experience counted towards the SSI Junior Open Water Certification

HOW DO CHILDREN START LEARNING NOW?

Once children are signed up you will be given access to the Scuba Ranger Crew Pack. This package includes animated videos, an activity book with puzzles, and an electronic dive log

SCUBA EQUIPMENT CHILDREN WILL USE:

Mask, snorkel, and fins, as well as a regulator set with gauges, a buoyancy compensator, and a small scuba cylinder.

COURSE PREREQUISITES:

• The minimum age is 8 years old and they must be comfortable in the water
