The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Course will help you to identify stress both on the surface and underwater and how to deal with this situation in a decisive and confident manner. The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Course is a challenging course, but when people finish it they generally say it’s one of the most fun courses they have undertaken. The course is 2-3 days long. It consists of 1 classroom session, 1 pool session, and 3 dives out in the open water.

DETECTING AND DEALING WITH STRESS –
COURSE OPTIONS:
Option 1: Classroom, pool, and 2 beach dives – Kata Beach is a perfect location for doing your SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Course. The visibility is generally between 5 and 15 meters. It covers a large area and is great for acting out the search and rescue part of the course. You will learn how to rescue people from the water at the beach. Kata Beach has an amazing variety of marine life including stingrays, nudibranchs, schooling fish, and moray eels. Kata Beach is a cheaper option than boat trips, and the advantage is you are not spending 2 or sometimes 3 hours to get out to the islands. But obviously, the beach is subject to weather conditions
Option 2: Classroom, pool, and 2 boat dives – When we go out on the boat we always use Racha Yai and Racha Noi Islands, these are known for good visibility and mild currents, and are perfect for training our students. This dive site is another great spot for acting out the search and rescue part of the course. You will also learn about getting victims out of the water and into boats.
There is artificial reefs, a few small wrecks, and marine life such as barracudas, puffer fish, and even sometimes turtles.
The open water dives we do at Kata Beach or the Racha Islands is where we practice the skills you learned in the pool and develop your confidence. After the skills are completed we then get to explore the dive sites and see the wonderful marine life
