ADVANCED ADVENTURER DIVER COURSE:

The Advanced Adventurer Course consists of 5 dives over 2 days. The price includes all equipment and certification. You will get trained by some of the best instructors on the island.

When you sign up for your Advanced Open Water Diver course you will be issued with your crew pack (SSI digital)

You can begin the important task of independent home study by reading the 5 Adventure dive chapter you have chosen to do and completing the knowledge reviews in each.
While each chapter documents a specific aspect or type of dive it is important to read them all to understand and appreciate all the skills the advanced open water diving offers.

OPEN WATER DIVES:

Next is the fun part, diving in the open ocean. We do a minimum of 5 Open water dives over 2 days. Generally we like to do 2 dives from Kata Beach and then on day 2 we do the 3 boat dives.

Kata Beach is our house reef and is a commonly used for at least 1 day of the Advanced Adventurer Course.

Kata Beach has an amazing variety of marine life including stingrays, nudibranchs, schooling fish and moray eels. Kata Beach is a cheaper option than boat trips, and the advantage is you are not spending 2 sometimes 3 hours to get out to the islands. But obviously the beach is subject to weather conditions. The beach is ideal for doing perfect buoyancy, night dive and navigation components of your course.

Generally if the conditions are good, we go to King Cruiser, Koh Dok Mai and Shark Point, however if there are adverse conditions like strong currents we will revert to using Racha Yai and Racha Noi Islands

Prior to registration on the Advanced open water diver course You must be a Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization) and 15 years old (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver) Participants under 16 years must be accompanied on the course by a parent or legal guardian at all times while underwater.

ADVANCED ADVENTURER COURSE SCHEDULE:

DAY 1: Pick up time is at 730am and you will be driven to meet your instructor. This instructor in most instances will be with you for the duration of the course (In high season sometimes we have to swap instructors to accommodate high volume)

Before any in water activities your instructor will go over the details of each component of the course and what is required on that dive.

Mandatory components of the SSI Advanced Adventurer Program are deep and navigation, the other 3 types of dives are up to you. The navigation adventure dive will boost your confidence when navigating in bad visibility. You will also learn how to use a compass underwater and how to measure distance by using natural references and kick cycles.

DAY 2: Again, the pick up time is at 730am  and you will be driven to meet your instructor. We then generally go to Shark Point, King Cruiser and Koh Dok Mai.

Shark Point offers an amazing array of marine life such as large schools of barracuda, turtles and lots of soft corals. This is perfect for doing the SSI Marine Ecology Course, Photo and Video Course or any other course that tickles your interest.

King Cruiser is Phuket’s premier wreck dive and this is where we complete your wreck specialty. The King Cruiser Wreck sank 20 years ago in controversial circumstances. The amount of marine life there is truly astonishing and it is often our students favorite dive site. The wreck lies at around 33m which mean that we hit our no decompression limits quite quickly. On average we do a 35minute dive. However if you choose to do the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Adventure Course as part of your Advanced Adventurer Program we can extend that to around 45mins

WHATS INCLUDED IN THE COURSE PRICE:

ALL our course prices includes dive equipment, we also teach you how to use your dive computer, you get theAdvanced Adventurer study material and certification card. Breakfast and lunch is provided on boat diving days.

We always recommend that students purchase their own equipment, as you wouldn’t take up cycling without buying a bicycle. So we offer a 10% discount on any purchase of dive equipment.

Not included:

Digital camera rental for the Photo and Video Adventure Dive  –  you have the option of renting for one for 1500THB or taking your own on the dives.

Lunch and transfers on beach diving days.

Additional charge may apply to transfers on boat diving days out side of Patong, Kata, Karon areas.

National park fees at Phi Phi 600 Baht per person

DIVE COURSE OPTIONS:

Option 1: Beach/Boat Package (5 Dives) -2 Beach dives and 3 boat dives to King Cruiser Koh Dok Mai and Shark Point (December to May). This represents the best value for money and you will learn beach entry techniques also. This is our most popular course option

Option 2: Boat Package (5 Dives) – 2 Dives at either Racha Noi or Raha Yai and 3 boat dives to King Cruiser Koh Dok Mai and Shark Point

Option 3: Boat Package (6 Dives) – 2 Dives at Phi Phi, 2 Dives at Shark Point, 1 Dive at King Kruiser and 1 Dive at Koh Dok Mai. (Please note it can take up to 3 hours to get to Phi Phi from Phuket)
